We believe healthy churches are planted and multiplied by healthy church planting couples.

For those who plant with Send Network, there is a team behind you specifically focusing on your spiritual and emotional health. We are here to connect you to other planting couples, encourage you as you do the hard work of church planting, respond to special needs as they arise, and constantly show appreciation for you and your work. Through events, resources, and community building with other planting couples in your area, you will know you’re not alone.

  • Regular events & meetings for lead church planters, church planting spouses, children, and team members
  • After endorsement, you will have an introductory interview for church planter care.  Be on the look out for this communication after endorsement begins.

  • A free, confidential help line for pastors. Trained, professional counselors are available every day from 8 a.m. – 10 p.m. (EST).

CSBC & SDSBA Benefits Suite

Endorsed Lead Church Planters through Send Network California will have access to a suite of benefits that provide planters with administrative and legal support:

  • Become Incorporated with CA SOS– obtain an Employer Identification Number (EIN)
  • Obtain CSBC and SBC ID “Plant Status” which includes Non-Profit Status
  • Guidance with establishing bylaws, policies & procedures manual, and a board.
  • Implementing AB506 (background check) California law requirements through Church HR Network
  • Ordination information (needed for housing allowance qualification)
  • Access to certified coaching for church planters through Converge Coaching Network
  • Recommend top insurance companies to protect the church and its board.

Church Plant Status, SBC ID, and 501(c)3

  • When a New Work Report is completed for a newly endorsed church plant, they will initially receive a Plant SBC ID Number, which does not include a 501c3 Non-Profit Organization (NPO) letter. In order to receive an NPO letter, the church plant must complete the CSBC Full Church Status application and be approved. Until the plant receives an NPO letter, the church plant can operate under the Sending Church’s NPO status if needed. For more information on the membership https://csbc.com/about/membership/
  • Our San Diego Southern Baptist Association and the CSBC work hand in hand to bring churches into the Full Church Status.  Send SD recommends that churches reach out to Phil Herrington to go through the Full Church Status application.  This allows affiliation with our local association (SDSBA) and our state convention (CSBC).
