Every night there are over 3,000 homeless teens on the streets of San Diego. We believe that these young people can be reached one life at a time. Our goal for the Celebrity Golf Tournament this year is to raise $500,000.00 to help do this. This income will allow Hope House to be at full operational capacity.

Every day Hope House is turning away teens because we do not have the capacity to add more. Currently, Hope House houses up to 8-10 students, operating on a minimal budget of $250,000.00. Hope House provides a holistic approach to care for young people in their time of distress. Our cost and success rate speaks for itself. 90% of our students have graduated from high school. Some have been reunited with family. Many have been accepted into college/university, military, or vocational training school. Our vision is to expand to 30 students which we can do for $1,400,000. This cost will cover all operational costs to service the students. For 30 teens the cost would be $47,000 a year per teen (monthly cost of $3,900 per teen).

It is thought provoking to compare the previously mentioned Hope House operating costs to the following statistics: The cost to house a juvenile inmate in prison is $214,620.00 per year. That is $17,885 a month. For minors who are in group homes (residential care facilities) the annual cost is $204,396.00; that is $17,000 a month. Hope House is making a difference by keeping young people out of these places and providing stability for a brighter future. Our desire is to provide more opportunities for young people to be cared for in this safe, loving environment and go on to lead productive adult lives.
